FITCHBURG — A man was shot this morning in Fitchburg and his assailant is being sought by police, according to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Antonio Klapakis, 27 of Brooklyn, N.Y. was shot just after 7:30 a.m. at the Meadowbrook Apartments, 46 Meadowbrook Parkway. He was was transported by helicopter to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center where he remains in stable condition.

The suspect, wanted for questioning, is still at large. His name is not being released at this time. State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Fitchburg Police are continuing to investigate.
