Chief James Hurley of the Leicester Police Department recently forwarded information concerning an International Financial Fund scam that local residents have recently reported to the police. The Chief wanted to share this information to inform the community about this scam and avoid others being victimized.
International Financial Fund Scam
A new scam has recently surfaced in Leicester. The potential victim is contacted by the International Financial Fund by mail and informed that they have won two awards (prizes) totaling $5,000,000. All the potential victim needs to do is complete the "Official Requisition Form" and forward it to the "International Payment Registry" to claim the money. A $50.00 entry processing fee must accompany the Official Requisition Form. There are a number of payment methods including putting down all your credit card information. I have attached copies of the paperwork associated with the scam so residents and businesses can be familiar with how it looks and works. I would also like to thank the local resident who turned the information in to the LPD so that we could publicize that the scam is operating in the area.
