STURBRIDGE — The death of a 44-year-old Sturbridge woman, whose body was found this afternoon on the median of I-84, does not appear suspicious or the result of being struck by a vehicle, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The woman’s body was found about 12:53 p.m. by a State Police K-9 unit after she was reported missing by a family member to Sturbridge Police earlier in the day. Her vehicle was found abandoned on River Road above the highway.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s office, State Police from the Sturbridge barracks and Sturbridge Police are continuing the investigation.
